REIKI is a natural system of energy harmonization and replacement that maintains or restores health - it is a method of stress reduction. REIKI is a system for awakening the power that resides within us, capturing, modifying and potentiating energy. It works as an instrument to transform harmful energies into beneficial ones.
I developed the REIKI Course for Children with the aim of helping them to deal with important issues common to their age as well as to gradually develop skills that will help them in their personal evolution.
First of all, it is necessary to talk a little bit about the importance of training Young Practitioners of Reiki
The stressful upheavals, disturbances and value inversions that proliferate in the modern world and that affect us so much, also affect our children. It is regrettable that children suffer from anxiety, anguish, depression, isolation, hyperactivity and various kinds of fear and stress; that they have nervous and angry episodes; that they have difficulty in concentration and in relationships.
But how to deal with these issues that are so important and that affect so significantly, and sometimes so devastatingly, our families and, especially, our children?
Without knowing how to deal with these issues and, with the best of their understanding - because everyone always wishes what they think is best for their children - many parents are resorting even to the use of medicines. These drugs, such as Ritalin, seem to help in the short term, but can bring devastating consequences in the long term.
Our proposal is to use a natural method, without the use of medication and therefore without any side effect, that allows the child to recognize and deal with his/her own energies and also with the energies of the environment.
We propose the practice of REIKI, which brings harmony and balance to the body, mind and emotions; which relaxes and reduces all kinds of stress; which increases the ability to focus and self-confidence, among many other benefits.
That's why we created the REIKI Training Program for Young Practitioners, offering the REIKI Course Level I for children between the ages of 8 and 12, with specially developed activities for this age group, with an illustrated workbook and a certification.
After learning and being initiated as a REIKI practitioner level I, the child is qualified to apply REIKI - in a face-to-face situation - in oneself, in other people, in animals, in plants, in food and in environments.
As time goes by, as the child practices more and more, he/she will develop important skills for his/her personal evolution, such as sustaining attention and focus, empathy with the people with whom he/she lives, self-confidence, greater understanding of the limitations of others and of oneself, patience and persistence in overcoming difficulties, more respect with others and with oneself.
The connection with the Cosmic Vital Energy Source, which is a powerful energy of love and healing, gradually opens spaces for the child to be more loving, understanding, supportive, respectful.
Certainly, after graduating from the REIKI Course for Kids, the Young Practitioners of REIKI will play an essential role in building the better world we all long for.
True growth rises from within
Berkana is a tree and also a rune (a Nordic oracle) whose meaning is "true growth rises from within". This concept synthesizes the essence of my services: to promote spiritual development, expansion of consciousness and self-knowledge through holistic practices, through individualized sessions and courses.
Among the various activities, there is the REIKI Course level I for Children aged 8 to 12, as well as the REIKI Courses in all levels for Adults. It is worth mentioning the REIKI Clinic, which is offered regularly free of charge.
But after all, what is REIKI?
REIKI is a Japanese word that identifies the Usui System of Natural Therapy, named after its founder, Mikao Usui.
REI means universal and refers to the Cosmic Energetic Essence that permeates all things and surrounds all that exists. KI is the individual vital energy that flows in all living organisms and maintains them. When the Ki energy leaves a body, it no longer has life.
The REIKI energy is a process of meeting these two energies: The Universal Energy and our physical energy. REIKI energy is one of the greatest forces on this planet for the evolution of people, a path of inner harmonization with the Universe. It is a comforting energy coming from the very Source of Life to which we all have access.
It is important to point out that REIKI has no religious link, so it can be practiced - given or received - by anyone, of any religion, or even by those who consider themselves atheists.
Any person, when initiated as a REIKI Practitioner, becomes a channel to let flow the energy of the Universe through the imposition of hands. 70% of the energy channeled by the REIKI Practitioner flows to whoever is directed and 30% stays with the very Practitioner, who always benefits. This energy is intelligent and it works where it is needed.
Once initiated, the Practitioner can give REIKI immediately and for the rest of one's life.
Problems REIKI helps to harmonize
In our daily lives it is very common to experience, both adults and children, situations that confront us with our anxiety, fear, frustration, impotence, sorrow, anguish, anger and aggressiveness. It is common to see that our concerns contribute to the lack of attention, focus and concentration.
We often feel rejected, with that frustrating feeling that "nobody likes us". Either we get lost in the excess of activity, running away and hiding from these unpleasant feelings, or we become paralyzed, without the required action in the face of the circumstances.
Because of physical and emotional pains, we often accumulate tensions that are reflected in our body, causing discomfort. Certainly, the REIKI Course for Kids can be of help in relieving and easing the mentioned problems.
Despite the countless benefits of REIKI, it is worth highlighting some of them:

1. Learning REIKI is simple and fast
Learning the REIKI technique is neither complex nor time consuming. The REIKI Course for Children - Level I has a workload of 8 hours and can be taught, for example, in a single day, or in two afternoons.
2. Anyone is able to channel the REIKI energy
Anyone, regardless of age, including children and the elderly, is able to be a REIKI channel.
For the REIKI Course for Kids - Level I, under our Reiki Training Program for Young Practitioners, the age range from 8 to 12 was established, so that the child is already literate.
However, depending on the maturity of the child, and this is something that parents need to talk to the REIKI Master, it is possible to accept younger children.

3. Anyone is eligible to receive REIKI
REIKI is a safe technique, without side effects or any contraindications, and is compatible with any type of conventional therapy or treatment.
4. REIKI does not cause any type of energetic or physical exhaustion
As the REIKI Practitioner does not use his/her own vital energy, but the Cosmic Vital Energy from the Universe, the application of REIKI energizes and does not wear out the practitioner, on the contrary, it strengthens him/her. As we said, 30% of the energy channeled by the Practitioner stays with him/her, while 70% flows to the one to whom it is directed.
5. REIKI is a holistic treatment
REIKI cares for the person in a holistic way, that is, in the physical, emotional and mental bodies - and even spiritual, because all of us, human beings, have the spiritual aspect as science has already proven.
REIKI is not only aimed at the suppression of pathology, but the return to a natural and desirable state of well-being and happiness.
Therefore, REIKI is not religion, philosophy or belief; it is not massage and neither mediumistic nor spiritual. REIKI is pure energy.
6. The World Health Organization recognizes REIKI as an alternative therapy
A very important piece of information that needs to be highlighted is that the REIKI practice was included in the context of Alternative Therapeutic Practices recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1962.
As for the case of Brazil, since 2017, REIKI has been included by the Brazilian Ministry of Health as a practice offered by the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS).
In this context, it is also important to highlight that the Ministry of Labor of Brazil recognizes REIKI as an isolated profession, qualifying it within the activities of integrative and complementary practices in human health.
The 5 REIKI Foundations
Among many other aspects, it is also worth mentioning that in the REIKI Course for Children, the 5 Foundations elaborated by Master Mikao Usui for the prevention of diseases are addressed:
- Just for today, don't be angry;
- Just for today, don't worry;
- Just for today, express your gratitude;
- Just for today, be diligent and honest in your work;
- Just for today, be kind and gentle to others.
In the REIKI Course, we work to make it clear to the child how he/she can apply each of the foundations to the small things of everyday life.
Based on foundation 4, for example, the application can follow this thought:
Today, only today, I will do my work with love and enthusiasm!
Partnership with interested schools
We are looking forward to establishing partnerships with schools that want to implement the REIKI Training Program for Young Practitioners.
To trigger the entire process of conversations to define an action plan to be executed, we offer:
- An informative lecture for parents and/or students, including two demonstrations of REIKI applications;
- REIKI Clinics to serve the school community (teachers and staff) in a number to be specifically planned with each school; and
- 20% (in relation to the total number of payers) of full scholarships for children of employees or children indicated by the school to take the course.
